I just bought the Spry. I have an iPad. The Spry manual references a “Spry App” that work for iOS. How do I get this App? It is not in the App Store?
Spry app doesn’t support iPad.
I have a new Spry. I completed the calibrations but the remote is taking and usually long time to initialize, so long that I had to plug in the remote because the battery was low. Is that normal? Please advise.
For the first calibration, the initialize time might be longer (about 3minutes). If after 5minutes still can’t initialize, that’s mean there is jitter or shake in the calibration area. Change a static place to do the calibration.
If the problem hasn’t been solved yet, please send us short video of the screen. We can identify what is the problem easily with the OSD display.
I have recently received my new Spry drone and trying to get started with it. I am struggling getting passed the initial set up, the control is saying that I have lost RC Signal. Please contact me with a solution or guidance to overcome this problem. I see nothing I the manual.

I tried the follow me function. This did not do anything. Drone was just hovering in the same place. After turning Remote Control off, the drone was reaction really slow and I had to power on and off to fix this.
Sometimes, when the drone or remote control is unilaterally shut down and connected again, it may be found that the response is slow, because 2.4 GH signal got interference and the synchronization of signals is problematic. At this time, restart the drone, or the remote control, the problem will be solved.
First try to land and start in the water failed. After landing in water the drone had a gyro issue. After landing in the water I tried to start again. But nothing happened, in the remote there was something like “gyro calibration” displayed.
When the drone lands on the water, it will show gyro calibration at a certain wave frequency, but it will be able to unlock and take off later. Because the gyro detection frequency is just at that point. This situation is relatively rare.
What is the most recommend video mode.
The default setting is 2.7K/60fps, and EIS on. You can use the APP to disable the EIS to try.
Is your drone & controller update software available for Mac OSX as I do not own a Windows PC.
The update software only runs on Windows PC. Go to download page (https://www.swellpro.com/download.html) to download the manual to get the instruction manual.
With the remark that holding it’s position was a challenge i started in the ATTI mode then switched over to GPS which did not much improve stability. I had at the end 12 satellites but even then it did not maintain its height going up and down more then 5 till 10 meters if not correcting.
Check #1: The function of membrane is to prevent water from entering the drone and to make the barometer inside the aircraft work properly. If the membrane is dirty, it will cause the barometer to work abnormally. Please take out the battery cover to try. If the drone become normal, that’s mean you should change the membrane.
Sometimes, my Spry drone has moisture problem for the dome and remote screen.
For the camera dome moisture problem, we seldom see this but it is possible if the drone has been opened in moist air environments. You have two fast ways to solve this problem:
1, Fast way is: open the battery cover, let the heat and moisture air inside the drone goes out;
2. You can take out the dome over off by carefully removing the two retaining screws and let the drone and dome dry out in a dry environment. Then put back the dome and fix it with the two screws, being very careful that the seal remains in place and does not get kinked. It should solve the problem.
For the remote controller, you can also open the USB plug seal in a dry environment and this will allow the moist air to dissipate. If there is big water drop inside, you can’t clean it however. Contact us or the nearest maintenance point for screen protection plate to replace. Or you can use a knife to open the screen protection plate, clean it and use some glue to seal the edge. Just not allow moisture air enter the screen front.
Is this drone capable of take-off and landing on the sea (saltwater)…
Yes, all our products are designed to work on the sea (saltwater)….
There is an issue where spry will not arm if crashed into water sometimes. “IMU Calibration request” is displayed in FPV and have to swim to recover it and reboot.
This is normal. When the drone have heavy shake, the GYRO need around 1minute to recover.
I crashed my drone for unknown reason. What should I do?
Don’t fly again, go to Swellpro download page to download the flight log tool and instruction manual to get the flight log and send to us, we will study and tell you what happened on your drone.
What does rc signal lost mean on the spry? How to fix?
The drone and controller need to re-pair. Check Page18 in the manual.

My Spry drone get water inside. What should I do?
Clarify: Every drone is waterproof tested before shipping out. Seal it properly before fly, water won’t get in, that’s for sure.
If it is only few drop of water, you can just put it upside down, and let it dry; If there’s a lot of water in it. You might need contact our service center and send the drone body to study. But probably all the electronics inside is damaged. You might need to replace all the electronics or buy a new Spry drone body.
